MY IMPRESSIONS ON FEED AGGREGATORS

Photo from flickr

A new mission for us this week, but I'm getting used to that, I'm becoming more self-confident, or maybe just resigned! Anyway this week task was not so difficult, on the contrary, to tell the truth, it was easy!

Most importantly I learnt another thing I didn't know and which is really useful especially for us because we are working using just the Net!

I think that having a programme that can keep you informed on all the new posts that are put on your favourite websites in real time is simply wonderful!

As I alredy said in my presentation I don' like spending much time surfing the Net and so I'm sure I'll use feeds aggregators as much as I can also after this English course has finished!

MY IMPRESSIONS ON SOCIAL BOOKMARKING

Photo from flickr

Obviously, when I first read on Bloggingenglish the last week's task I was something like frightened and I thought 'I just want to die!'. Think of my difficulties in surfing the Net and my problems in reaching my goal whenever I look for something in the Net!
But soon later I had a pleasant and really uexpected surprise: in only one morning I was able to carry out the task without any particular problems! This allowds me to say that Delicious is a really useful and easy to use web site which can help you when you're serching something in the Net, you only need to insert a tag word and it will appear a long list of website on that topic selected by other people and also by yourself if you had done it before! Really useful website!

About my classmates' favourites on Delicious, I have to say they are all interesting an they can all be useful on the occasion you need them!

_First I think that the INTERNET SLANG DICTIONARY AND TRANSLATOR chosen by Martina can really be useful, especially for someone who has difficulties in surfing the Net, just like me!

_Than I find that the FREE ONLINE PRONUNCIATION GUIDES WITH INSTANT SOUND PLUS DICTIONARY, signaled by Erika Buzz, Tania and Elena, can help us to put in practise what we are learning in the course held by Professor Busà.

_Both THE DICTIONARY OF ENGLISH SLANG AND COLLOQUIALISMS OF THE UK, chosen by ale_aia, and THE DICTIONARY OF INFORMAL, COLLOQUIAL, SLANG AND IDIOMATIC PHRASES IN SPOKEN ENGLISH, selected by Alida, can satisfy one's curiosity and be useful when dealig with an Ebglish blog!

_Also the site signaled by Viola titled THE BEST OF BRITISH-THE AMERICAN'S GUIDE TO SPEAKING ENGLISH can both be funny and interesting at the same time.

_Concerning writing, I have to point out that Susi and Elena really gave good tips, the first signaling the site BASIC GUIDE TO ESSAY WRITING and the second suggersting the site DISSERTATION/THESIS GUIDE.

_Finally I want to thank Ale Teso for her suggestion on the weblog about English communication titled MOTHER TONGUE ANNOYANCES.

MY IMPRESSIONS ON BLOGGING

Photo from flickr

I had never blogged before this English course: obviously surfed the Net, but I had never given my contribution to a blog nor, to tell the truth, had I ever visited one! Now I've tried this new experience I found out that blogs are really useful besides being funny!

They're funny and interesting because there you can read either curious or interesting posts, dipending on the kind of blog, and you can also see pictures and watch videos.

They're useful because there you can find a lot of links to other blogs or web sites which could be helpful to you for a specific purpose or which could just catch your attention and curiosity!!!

WELCOME TO MY BLOG!!!

Ugly picture of me taken on the occasion of my week-end in London with my boyfriend last year, precisely in a Chinese restaurant.

Hello everybody! Welcome to my blog!
Creating a blog sounds quite strange to me, I had never thought I would create one, but my English professor has assigned us this mission for this semester course and so here I am! I hope I'll do a good job! I have to thank my teacher because I'm learning a lot of new things on the web, this is not just an English course but an English-computer course!!!

A few words to describe myself: I'm 23 years old and I'm attending my last year at university, I'm studying Foreign Languages for International Communication at the University of Padova. I'm looking forward to finishing and to find a job!!! Obviously a job that allows me to put in practise what I've learned so far but also which allows me to learn something new!

I like travelling, watching movies at the cinema, going to the seaside, going out for dinner with my boyfriend and staying in my bed watching tv in the evening (but only during the week, because in the week-ends I like going out and having fun!)
PS This is not a beautiful picture of me, but it is the only one I have stored on my computer!
